Could a group/rapper like Run-D.M.C. be popular today?

I'm listening to Run-D.M.C. (the album) right now. It's very good. Of course they don't have multis or modern beats, but it's entertaining. I like the innocent feel of it. Do you think a throwback group could ever make it today? I doubt it, but it'd be interesting.

No, because people these days generally don't like good music. Eminem is an exception of someone who is great and still really popular, but generally...no, people apparently hate good music. If it doesn't get their attention after 5 seconds, they're not interested

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

This. A few of my friends will listen to a song for 5 seconds, go to another one, listen for a few seconds, go to another song, etc. It gives me a fucking headache.
