Country Rap

Postby christalgurl » Jun 17th, '11, 15:55

It seems like mixing country music and rap music is becoming more and more common. I'm not sure if you guys have noticed this lately or not. The mixture is being called Hick Hop. Colt Ford, for instance, is an exclusively country rapper. Ludacris recently performed with Jason Aldean on his country rap song, Dirt Road Anthem. I'll post a couple of the better examples I could find.

That's actually my favorite example of country rap. The beat and the chorus are really good, and Jason's voice is bearably country.

This is a Colt Ford song, "Ride Through The Country"

This is Cowboy Troy's song, "I Play Chicken With The Train"

"If You Don't Wanna Love Me" by Cowboy Troy also

Hate it? Love it? No opinion at all? Any other examples you found that you like or hate, post them.

That I play chicken with the train track is cool lmao. A foreigner full of cliches about america would say that when i hear this i can imagine myself chillin' in texas ahha.

The ludacris song is kinda good, i liked the mix.
