Well, the fanbases of artists like Ross, Wiz & Drake generally tend to be made up of dumber, lesser informed people than the fanbases of artists like Copy, Elzhi, Blu & RA do. That's not to say that there aren't exceptions & that there aren't intelligent people that enjoy mainstream music, or retarded people that enjoy underground music (hell, we have quite a few of them here), but generally that's not the case.

First of all, Jedi Mind Tricks is not a rapper, it's a group. Secondly, Kendrick is generally alot more "beloved" right now than JMT is. And yet, if I were to ask you to give me a reason as to why Kendrick is better than JMT, your reasoning would either be a repetitive re-hash of something everyone else has already said to flaw JMT or it would be flat out fucking stupid if you attempted to think for yourself & be original. Whereas if I were to ask an intelligent person to give me reasoning as to why Kendrick is better than JMT, their reasoning would be respectable, it would make sense & it would be coherent, even if I didn't personally agree with it, I would respect it. That's the thing with opinions, they rely entirely on the general knowledge & intelligence of the person whom they belong to. Why should I respect your opinion on Hip Hop when you know nothing about it?

Back on topic, some people just like being negative and bashing music, and some people like to just focus on listening to good music.

We have mainstream fans that love to bash eminem and others = Almostlity

We have underground fans that love to bash the mainstream = take your pick lol

Because usually those rapper's fan bases are dumber and less intelligent than others. Notice that I said USUALLY, before someone flips out. I think we also need to take into account that bitches generally don't care for lyrics (the dumb ones anyway) and listen for the beat and the hook, which all those rappers specialize in. Of course smart people can enjoy those artists just as much because they simply like the music.

In the end it really does boil down to taste, but you're right based on observation. Again, you missed the point, why should I respect someone's personal preference if their reasoning for it is garbage? This is why I don't argue with people like Chet, they don't try coming off as someone that can debate Hip Hop, they stay in their own lane & enjoy whatever the fuck they want, that I can respect. Then there's people like you who obviously have no idea what they're talking about, have a minimal understanding of the genre, and yet still want to argue it. JMT for the majority of their career has had better production than Kendrick, topics I can give you that, while Kendrick's are pretty cliche for the most part & I prefer JMT's violence & mythology references, I can easily see how someone would prefer Kendricks content. Lyricism is too vast to be defined off a general "they're better lyrically" statement, plus neither Vinnie (and Jus Allah) or Kendrick are very good lyrically anyways.
