Well the majority of America happens to be white and "mainstream" music represents the majority, regardless of what race it is. But the majority of America being white has nothing to do with musical quality. The word he is looking for is "mainstream", not white. Maybe if hip hop becomes a niche that only urban people heard-of or listened to, then will it be black enough?

i really dont think he meant it isnt black enough in that way, to me it seemed like he means the culture is becoming more "white", he should have said mainstream. he is right, although he really fucked the wording up lol. if you ask me I feel like rap and fashion run in cycles, we have returned to the 80's dresswise and music wise, its all about partying and having a good time when it comes to mainstream music, who knows when the cycle will continue on and change.

Scarface also says there is "a conspiracy against the Blacks in Hip Hop" and explains how record label executives have "brainwashed a generation" of fans.

Scarface recently vented about his frustrations with record label executives and Hip Hop. In an interview with Hardknock TV, Face shared his displeasure by speaking on how he feels race and racism affect the music that is released by record companies.

"I feel like we losing it," Face said in the clip. "I feel like the people that are in control of what Hip Hop does is so fucking White and so fucking Jewish and so they don't give a fuck about what the culture and the craft really is about."

Scarface paused at this point and said he wanted to clarify.

"Let me say this shit right because I want this to be as offensive as I can fuckin' make it for these old-ass punks that's running these record labels that's in the powerful positions to dictate what the Black community hears and listens to. I fucking hate that shit. That shit pisses me off," he added.

"There's no fucking way that you can tell me that it's not a conspiracy against the Blacks in Hip Hop. You put out fucking records that make us look stupid. You make us look dumb. You brainwash a generation of Hip Hoppers with this fucking crud and then when these other rappers come out, splitting it down the middle, these other rappers' shit sound like 'Wow!' Y'all look great!' 'Y'all look stupid!' ... Then mothafuckers start going over here and pretty soon, Hip Hop is White now."

I partly agree with what he is saying, mainstream Hip-Hop is a multi billion dollar maker but the music industry in general is just that: an industry. Demand dictates supply, and Lil Wayne's records sell more than Mos Def's. Because of that reality, suppliers (record labels) produce more vulgar rap albums than enlightening ones. The invisible hand is going to bitch-slap you every time. That's the bottom line. Hip-Hop is not the only Genre that lost it's core it happened to Jazz too.

If so, perhaps you saw something different than I did. Because to me, it was clear that he was arguing that there is a conspiracy in place by old white Jews in the industry to make black rappers (and black people) look stupid. He then says that it happened before, with Rock'n'Roll and blues, where white people have replaced black people, in a genre created by black artists.

His argument isn't just about the industry pushing ignorant music, that part I agree with. He's going one step further, by alluding to the idea that the industry purposely is putting less talented black artists out to contrast with more talented white rappers in order to change the face of the genre. That's the part of what he said that I just don't agree with, especially when it comes to hip hop.

that slipped by me honestly, as it is absurd when applied to hip-hop, but i agree with you on that point. other than that he had a bit of steam if we disregard his conspiracy theories.
