So we have a few of the best recent names in rap saying that, compared to? Cudi and Drake... lol. I like Cudi, Drake is a cunt, but, Em's initial impact had more influence. And we're only just truly beginning to see it - as the kids that grew up on him become stars (B.o.B).
SSLP was a whole new milestone in rap, not quite the same as MMLP, in fact nowhere near the same, but stylistically at least; it was blazingly fresh... The College Dropout... all I hear is people talk about Kanye's creative use of samples lmao... wow? There's nothing innovative about it in any other way, or rap wise, other than perhaps his subject-matter being more everyday.
yeah but I highly disagree.
It's true for artists like Tyler and Hopsin but some artists will say that Eminem influenced them because they have some respect for him but look at Kendrick, I still don't know where is the Eminem influence in his songs. He talked about Eminem a the beginning of his career but he doesn't talk about him anymore.
Cudi and Drake aren't the only artists influenced by Kanye, what about Pusha-T ? he also influenced a lot of other stars, all genre (Adele, Franck Ocean, etc)
He (Kendrick) said in like some 20... 12 I think interview that Em was a 'dramatical genius' and that he influenced his style / thinking a lot.
