Dr. Dre Had Demrick Rap In His Kitchen

Postby IBasicallyRage » May 25th, '13, 13:30

Alright, So I found this just now. I hadn't seen anyone post about it yet, so hell, why not? What I've found so far-

Xzibit recently made Demrick an offer he couldn't refuse. "He called me up one day and said, 'We're going to Dre's house,'" Demrick says during an interview with SkeeTV. "He said, "Just come, ride along and let's see what happens.'"

Demrick a/k/a Young De was featured on Xzibit's 2012 album, Napalm, and has been touring with Mr. X To The Z. Once the pair arrived at Dre's house, Xzibit introduced Demrick to Dre and told him that he believed he could be the West Coast's next artist of note.

Demrick and Dre then ended up in an unlikely place for an impromptu performance. "He's going around and he's kind of just playing instrumentals in his kitchen at his house," Demrick says of Dre. "He looked at me. He asked me, 'What do you got?'"

As Demrick started rapping, a crowd including Snoop Lion, The D.O.C. and Fred Wreck started gathering in Dre's kitchen, Demrick says. Then, Dre pitted Demrick against another rapper, whom he did not identify.

After he finished rapping, Demrick was surprised about how his meeting with Dre unfolded. "You think you're going to press play for him and you're going to play some records," Demrick says. "You don't think it's going to come down to Dre, Snoop, everybody. Xzibit's in the corner saying, 'You're killing it. You're doing your thing.' You never think it's going to come down to a boom box a beat and what you got."

I've never heard of this Demrick guy, until just now, here is the link to what's up above :

I don't know exactly but he's a young cat... he came along those other cats in the so called New West movement a few years back. He is/was at the time affiliated to B-Real & Cypress.

I do... the whole idea of them starting as a duo didn't work for whatever reason though.
