Power Trip grew on me pretty quickly. This one may take a bit longer.. Not sure why besides I'm not feeling it.

This is the kind of shit we knew Cole was capable of. Making radio hits that delivered lyricism and meaning. I know rapping about cash and shit is cool and all, but this is the kind of single people have wanted from Cole since the Warm Up. It's not perfect, but it's pretty fucking good. I can't see how people could gripe with the lyrics and verses themselves tbh.

What a ridiculous fucking line if he did say that.

2Pac is the second-greatest selling rapper of all-time... and plenty of white rappers AIN'T.
(proves the point both ways: 1) that you can be black and sell like Eminem; 2) plenty of white rappers, including good ones, DON'T sell like Eminem = this is essentially double-blind proof that it's fuck all to do with skin colour either way, and in fact - entirely - the content and music.)

And if anybody says "but 2Pac died so that's why"... no, he sold boatloads whilst alive, and plenty of other rappers like Big L are dead, and they AIN'T the 2nd or 3rd biggest selling.

Skin colour does not sell or deter selling of music either way, tired of pathetic black rappers turning to that as an excuse for themselves not being huge. J.Cole: oh, no it's not because you don't make groundbreaking music and tracks like "Stan" and "Criminal"... that can't be why right? I mean, you have revolutionized the game with your ingenious ideas, so it must be your skin colour :facepalm pathetic.

PS. he sold nearly as much as Em in his first week with his debut album, despite the fact it's harder to sell albums now... so, just thought I'd add that. What an idiot.

Just to point out, he's talking about music in general, not just rap. Therefore his point still stands.

No it doesn't. It's not a point, it's a ridiculous statement / implication.

MJ = the biggest artist ever was black (originally).

The Jackson 5 have sold over 100 million albums.

Prince is black; he's sold over 80 million albums.

Whitney Houston is black and a woman, and has sold over 200 million albums.

It's a totally racist, idiotic, ridiculous, petty, desperate statement - the idea he's not selling because he's black :/ how fucking absurd. It's the words of an artist not making his mark.

There''s zero fucking evidence that being black deters sales, and plenty, plenty, PLENTY to suggest it makes no difference what so ever... hence many of music's biggest artists ever, being black.

The concept exists in the minds of retarded black rappers.
