As a former New Orleans native I was exposed to a lot of Wayne and I would say a lot of his old work is good. The Dedication series (minus #4) are favourites of mine. The drought and carter projects are solid too.

Yep. I really think this guy has gems, even in his later material. I enjoyed 6 Foot 7 Foot, John, and a couple of others from Tha Carter IV. Tha Carter II is pretty sick imo. This guy deserves a lot of the hate he gets. And then doesn't deserve some of the other hate. He's pretty much a joke when he jumps on another artist's song. And his lyrics are like night and day on his solo stuff compared to his collaborated material. I'm not saying this dude is one of my favorite 50 artists or anything, but you could do much worse... usually. He whores himself out to jump on any verse he possible can. And I don't blame him. But his lyrics are hollow and mindless babbling at times due to this.

One of the best metaphorical rappers at his prime imo... it's sad that ymcmb ruined his ass because he is very young :(

And I love that guest verse

Also, I'd say that he "re-invented" the mixtapes, he really made them more popular :flutter:

journalists and fans fight against each other to know who made them popular, but we all know that weezy is the winner :coffee:
50 said that he created them but DJ Clue was the first to commercialize the mixtape and Lil Wayne really made them more popular imo

A simile is a type of metaphor.

All similes are metaphors. Not all metaphors are similes.

"They tried to send me suger, wasn't sweet enough"
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.
