I mean, he turned into Snoop Lion for a reagge album and even had a doccumentary and a book called "Reincarnated" that showed how he was living in his new found jamaican doutriny
Now, he's Snoopzilla and got a new album called 7 days of funk coming out, inspired in the g funk old school sound he used to have but bringing it to 2013, you know, with a futuristic feel
I admire those decisions. Choosing a complete new route to go musically and intirely becoming part of it after more than 20 years of carrer is something great, no doubt. That goes for Snoop Lion. As far as Snoopzilla, I also think this is great. He's looking for that old vibe. How many artists do you know that has fans wanting the old artist back with the sound he used to do. Snoop is doing that on his own.
So, my question here is not about how good and validated are these two projects Snoop had.
My question is how far do you think Snoop is in command of all these recent decisions on his career.
Do you think he created everything from his new names to his new directions and album titles, for instance, or does his managers, record label, someone or a group of people are taking Snoop wherever they think it will sell and give them money, telling snoop what to do, handing him instrumentals and lyrics, putting camera crews behind him so they can make a doccumentary promoting the album and stuff like that.
