Was there ever a day when HHDX was an actually good music site for hip-hop?

That shit is filled with the most trolls I have ever seen (I've been a frequent visitor for like 4 years now).
Trolls include but are not limited to:
SO ICY BOI
Ricky Rozay
youngsta
dentaldamboy
Drake Runs Rap
Crip4Life
hella wierdo Ja Rule stans

And then in addition, the commentors on the site seem to most often be completely fucking retarded in every way possible, threatening people, bringing up random fake gang shit, reppin cities like anyone gives a fuck. being mad fuckin racist to all groups of people, blatant homophobia to the extreme levels that far surpass this forum (this forum is dope as fuck btw), wierdos - and then there is the occasional completely irrelevant comment talking about some shrooms trip, or a graphic description of rape, or some wierd satanic shit...

There is rarely an actual comment and the extent of people "reviewing" a track or album is them saying "nigga this shit FIRE" - the following responses for this comment are "shut up fuckboy" or "I want to drake to sit on my shit stick!" or "faggots like you deserve to be captured and starved to death before being skinned alive" - like what the fuck?

I will admit though, the funniest insults are on this site. One guy called this dude "a pig skinned cave monkey" as an insult for white people. or "foot locker workin lookin ass nigga".

Ok, sorry for my rant. I just had to get this off my chest. HHDX has gone to complete shit.

Hiphopdx used to actually have some decent discussions back in 2010 though. I remember even ARTISTS would comment in the comment section. And the writers of articles were also involved. Unfortunately, they did not remove spam for a while and by the time they decided to do so, all reasonable discussions were gone to shit.

I will say this, it is undoubtedly the BEST site for hip-hop news and their editorials are good to great. They cover a good balance between underground and mainstream. and, surprisingly, the "hottest singles" and "highest rated singles" are quite accurate.

I still go to hhdx at least once a day. between there and rap radar, I actually find the trolls to be pretty entertaining

they are fucking entertaining tbh. I agree with others that HHDX is very good for hip hop news and I do check it multiple times a day like something is wrong with me. I float between hhdx, here, and sputnikmusic.com for hip hop commentary. The editorials on HHDX are damn informative at times too.

I go there for news. Don't really post there though. (Commenters are beyond fucking retarted). Some of their articles are well written. That "The Marshall Plan" article written a little while back regarding Em and MMLP2 was the best article I've read on that site.
