I think the Fantano review was spot on for the most part.
The main issue with Knock Madness for me was Hop's lack of growth as an artist. If this had came out a year after Raw, I don't think anyone would feel like it was as weak as they do now. Raw was an album that should have been a mark of his potential, not some standard that he could only hope to meet (at best) with his next release. Knock Madness is good for what it is, I'm just afraid that it only reinforces the idea that people have of Hopsin being a limited artist.
Perhaps inflated expectations come into play here. Then again, maybe the reason Hopsin continuously put off releasing this album was due to the fact that the points brought up about this album are valid, and he himself perceived this prior to putting it out.
