Yeezus, you sure?

MBDTF, yeah. But for WTT and Yeezus he took a backseat. He directed the music, yeah, but there were a good amount of tracks from Yeezus he didn't produce.

Yup, Yeezus too. The only song he didn't produce on MBDTF was DIAND I think but I believe he was responsible for the reconstruction. He produced most of WTT as well, including Otis.

He can produce soul beats in his sleep (his words), MBDTF and Yeezus have different aesthetics than his earlier albums and I think that's why he brought in co-producers. Yeezus obviously went for the minimalist electronicish sound so he brought in the guys from Daft Punk and Rick Rubin to help master that style, but he was the main producer on every song.

Alright, I see that now, I was under the impression he didn't produce much. Still, he had to bring in all these other people and sounds and I think it would have worked far better if it was just him doing it. But I looked up the production credits and you are correct. Sorry.

Hmm interesting, I can not imagine the modern Kanye Rapping over a Rick Rubin/Q-tip beat. But he still has been able to do it before, but I do hope this time he pays more attention to lyricsing and rapping. Flows, and technicality. The content shouldn't be a problem, but yeah... I hope he doesn't try to Modernize their sound and just let Rubin and Tip do their stuff.

So the album will be full of beats with random samples trown together. Cool
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Am I the only one who sees a problem with this? Kanye may have blown up with his first few albums... lyrically... but his lyrics have NEVER been that great. What made Kanye himself was that he was pretty much the hottest producer in the game when he dropped his own album. Given the fact that his lyrics have always sucked, and that he is a producer not a rapper, I am having a hard time figuring out what Rick Rubin will bring to the table.

Rick is an amazing producer, but why pair him with someone on Kanye's lyrical level? You take away Kanye's production off a Kanye track and all that's left is him repeating the same lines over and over trying to make a point that will only ever seem good to him.
