Because it speaks for itself. It has the #1 and #3 biggest hits in the world of the entire year. It has remained in the Spotify top 10 albums worldwide since its release. GKMC has struggled to stay on the top 50. Macklemore is also Spotify's most streamed artist of the year, and the Heist is also the most streamed album on YT of 2013.

Mack has covered Rolling Stone, XXL, and was Source's man of the year. The album itself completely indi and made with no samples using live instrumentation. You really should listen to it again, its a classic. From the very first song he spits pure truth.

gkmc was ranked as one of the top 10 most streamed albums on spotify in 2013 and he hasn't released a solo song since 2012

I've never come across a non white Macklemore fan.
Neither in person or online.

yeah there really isn't anything to discuss about Macklemore's album, it was an "okay" album I guess.
At this point in time Macklemore is probably more hated than Lil Wayne but unlike weezy, you can't really call him overrated because people acknowledge his existence but don't praise him or his album...kinda like Soulja Boy in his prime

Except the link I posted was to the opinion of a conglomerate of well respected critics. That is vibe magazine, hip-hop community exclusive. It is what it is, but The Heist has much more mass appeal. #1 streamed artist of the year on spotify, #1 and #3 biggest hits of the year on billboards top 100 hits of the year. The Heist is the most streamed album of the year on YT. Yada yada, you've heard all before. Not trying to get into a debate, but if we're being honest The Heist has a much better chance of winning the AOTY award.
