Seems like Drake is just butthurt because Mack didn't text him. Yes, Kendrick deserved it and Mack knew that. I believe that he should have left it out of social media, yeah, but the text itself was fine. Posting it on social media makes it seem like you're trying to cop out of it. "Hey, it wasn't me, I didn't think I should win! It was them!" is basically what he's saying.

Either way, Drizzy never had to go onto say that. Macklemore most likely sent the text to Kendrick only cause everyone knew GKMC was the one that deserved to win, not the other albums. He himself said Kendrick should win over him, so it's natural he'd only text Kendrick. Still shouldn't have posted it online tho. I understand the sentiments behind it, but it made him look worse.
