Flow is rhythm, bro. It's all mathematical, though most people flow from the soul. Not many have as astute a mathematical understanding of flow as Eminem does.

Yeah, I mean, you have the whole counting music thing, beats per bar and shit (4/4) and how it goes with tempo, which I think is useful to know, however, I'm against limiting yourself to having the rhymes at the 4th beat (the snare) and shit like that. You can do whatever the fuck you want, if you have the feel, you can ride the beat with a fucking written essay with no rhymes at all. So yeah, you can check out the flow section in the How To Rap book for more information.

The basic flow every rapper tries when starting out is multis at the end of each bar in the same place and roughly the same number of syllables in each bar.
