there's very little good gangsta shit these days, and I blame a lot of that on the massive pussification of hiphop culture within the last 8 years or so. but you can still find real ass niggas out there!

no but other than my obvious choices like tech and rittz i've always really enjoyed the work of this west coast cat named Andre Nickatina <-- also one of the dopest beats ever period. But yeah check out nickatina the dude's been around for like 20+ years, he has an incredible body of work. My personal favorites are Train with No Love, Fly Like A Bird and Killa Whale. But also check out Dice of Life (super chill track, I love smoking to this one), Last Breath of an MC (if you're into poetic stuff, sup crashband), Jungle's also a good one, yeah he's got a lot of great stuff. But then there's people like Immortal Technique, I love his hard gangsta shit, like Parole and Mistakes, but he also has a lot of great work (albeit a lot of batshit crazy work too, but good stuff is there for sure). i know i'm forgetting a lot of people but that's what comes to mind right now

YG
TrShady is just great. A place where pompousus blowhards can connect with other pompousus blowhards, and form a vast circle jerk of pomposity.

i think em is the only mainstream artist i actively listen to :-k are there any others, kendrick excluded, that could keep their head above water with the underground's elite? <-- genuine question, not being sarcastic.

Very subjective question but that is tough since underground artists are generally more lyrical

well yeah but i expected a subjective answer. i was asking if you personally think there's any that can hold a candle to what you consider to be the top underground mc's. was just a question, not looking to spark an argument.
