The Game is a complex individual to say the least, but that's what makes him unique in hip-hop. The latest complexity arrives via his leaked title track, "The Doctor's Advocate," which features Busta Rhymes. The song starts out as a scene-setter with a clearly inebriated Game telling Busta that day-to-day the answer to all his problems lies in a mix of Belvedere and banana Snapple.
From there, The Game opens up the song with, "Dre, I didn't mean to turn my back on you / but I'm a man and sometimes a man gotta do what he gotta do / Remember, I'm from Compton too? / I saw you and Eazy-E, so I started wearing khaki suits / I was 12, smoking chronic in '92 / I had a choice -- be like Mike or be like you / I made a choice -- now it's be Crip or be Piru / Whatever it was I was banging Gin and Juice."
Game proceeds to continue stating his allegiance to Dre by saying, "When Doc says it's a wrap, it's a wrap / It's still Aftermath and ain't nothing after that!" He then brings in Busta to speak on his behalf. Busta co-signs on Game's sometimes madness and stubbornness, but assures Dre that the Compton rhyme spitter is actually very loyal to him.
Someone needs to approach Dr. Dre with this song immediately and ask him what he thinks of The Game. It's a clear no-brainer that Dre didn't want to be involved when 50 and Game started their beef. If anything, Dre sided with 'Fif a bit more because there's more money involved and it's better business, but you have to appreciate The Game on this track. The dude is such a complex, weird individual and that's what makes him a great cat to listen to. In addition, he's a work horse, as he's still cranking out freestyles to feed the streets, despite his album release just a few weeks away. Hip-hop fans need to support this album. It's gotta be good. The Doctor may not advocate, but the Fire is. The Doctor's Advocate is set to hit stores November 14th.
