agree with you 100%
firstly, ppl always ask me what do i listen to... i say rap and most of em are like rappers only talk bout money, bitches, and cars... secondly, i tune into the radio and its lil wayne or young jeezy on... idk how ppl can listen to that shit. dont they realise the lyrics are shit?
and then u see ppl like lil wyte "rapping" bout his cars...
and whats annoying is that ppl are actually buying those "south" music cds (im not sayin all rap from the south is bad, but u get the idea)... so ppl can actually make money off shit lyrics with a beat...
now people everywhere think hip-hop is all bout bitches, money, and cars... so now u have things like the CCN's "hip-hop: poison or entertainment?"

i can't knock what they do. if the public is bumping it, they must be doing something right. i personally don't like it. but i would never attack their hustle. they make the music they make. whatever that wanna do, they can do it. i prefer down to earth songs, with meaning.

and on another note to any rapper here

And when i talk to them about Rakim, Nas, Pac or any other legend they say that I don't know what Rap is about

same here, everyone i know who claims to listen to hip hop listens to shitty Dipset and Jeezy. My friend and myself were listenin to some music one day, and the KRS-One song Jermaine Dupri got the beat of "welcome to atlanta"from came on and he was like "yo, this guy jacked Jermaine's beat"

you are right on what real hip-hop is Blackheart, but what the others listen to is rap. that's what they make money on, like DQ said.
btw, you said Wayne can't claim to be the best rapper. but don't other rappers do that also, even the legends?

co-sign!!

most artists now a days are about hustlin than rapping. but really, who is to blame? the public for demanding it? the corporations for providing it? or the artists? the answer is no one cuz everyone's at fault here. it's allll about supply and demand.

i just wish more artists bridged hot beats with lyrical content but i'm not gonna hate. it is what it is =/

2 be honest i don't think you'll find real hip-hop in the mainstream. u got 2 listen to undergroud artists to get real hip-hop. that's just my opinion tho becuz when 1 song duz good every other mainsteam artist copies it 2 try 2 make their single a hit.
