Whats Your Opinion On Grime?

someitmes i hear it and just get tranced and love it, other times it sounds like the stupidest genre

its a pick and mix of ok and bollocks.Ive heard some that makes me cringe,usually because the accent is way to off or the beats sound like they been made on a mobile phone.Its not got that much going for it if im honest but some is okish.

Though grime when done properly can be excellent, the fast flow, the energy,
the gritty realism, the charisma etc .. it's refreshing but got a bad rep thanks to certain people.

ive been listenin to grime since it was still garage and i used to mc to it and still do occasionally, if u listen to the right people and understand the scene better then it wud have a better rep, u cant compare it to hip hop its completely different, like if u compare dancehall lyricist to a hip hop lyricist the hip hop lyricist wud wipe the floor with the dancehall one cos dancehall is all about girls and cars and guns and parties but it sounds good..it works cos thats the way its meant to be. same as with grime its not supposed to have the same depth as hip hop its supposed to be high tempe high energy catchy music that gets the crowd singin and shoutin, the crowd cant shout along deep rakim lyric can they?
grime needs to be appreciated for what it is not compared to what its not

grime is not particularly bad, its true a lot of it is shit but i dunno im not afraid 2 admit that there are definitely some grime tunes i listen 2. Also i like it when grime artists suprise you, like pull out a decent complex rhyme but it dont happen often. Grime can be bad but also can be good, a lot like some other genres of musik. I would say 60% of its shit mainly due to poor recordings/ set-set up and shit MC's. Bear grime MC chat pure bullshit. Other are heavy tho. Dizee, Kofi b.
