I bought his album to support him. But overall the album was just ok. A bit dissappointing to be honest. When I first copped it, I loved it. Second Spin it was great. Third spin is when I started noticing the blandness of some of the songs. Lark On My Go-Kart, I Love College, La Di Da, and His Dream were really the only song I really found enjoyable. The rest was pretty much ass. I expected more after hearing his Mixtape and the Just Listen EP.

The production on the album was pretty good, tbh. Oren Yoel has his own little style going on, and it fits Asher. But IDK I guess Asher is still in that experimental stage where he wants to find a flow and style that suits him best. His lyrics are dope, his flow is decent, and overall delivery on the album is meh.

His singles so far aren't that bad. Be By Myself, was pretty catchy. I Love College was a great START for him. Lark on My Go-Kart was flames the first couple of spins.

Maybe next album will be that "Defining" point for Ash. I have hope in him, and think he really does have the potential.

A lot of great posts in here. McMaybe I see what you're saying about the money aspect, and I agree on a lot of levels, though I don't think it's entirely about money. I made a thread a while back though saying that I had a hard time relating to rappers that came from money. It just didn't feel the same. The struggle wasn't there for me. People like Em had to struggle through no money AND a serious racial barrier.

And Tru I agree with you too. Asher doesn't have any passion for this. I think it's smtn he just does for shits and giggles and to get some extra ass on the side. It's nothing like Em (as has been stated) or 50 who pretty much came from jack shit.
