Well it wasn't Guru really saying that about Southern Rap, it was Solar. But whatever, they can have their opinion since Guru is the man. Gang Starr!!!

Damn Solar made some good points. I agree with him 100% new rappers these days quick to make a ringtone album just to sell records without even realizing there fucking up the state of Hip Hop, only because bitch made bitches/idiots/fuck-heads call the rap that's been out for a while now "Hip Hop". Fuck any "hip/banging clubby song" supporter, wanna dance? motherfucker look else where HIP HOP ain't no motherfucking dance music bitch! If you wanna dance to real hip hop just because you want to that's cool and all that (talking about break dancers) but don't fuck up Hip Hop while your at it, show some fucking respect! Aight I'm done ranting, need to get this shit out of my system daily.

I remember reading Master P's name in an article, his name was down in the list as one of the wackest rappers of all time lol. The way you look at Hip Hop is in a business form, why? why do you care if they're selling records or not? A Hip Hop fan or any other music fan, should have the decency to check out an artist, for the sake of and the love of music not the sales. You shouldn't be calling Hip Hop a business, that's an insult. It's a culture, a lifestyle for most, way of thinking, way of life for the true die hard fans. Although I agree about Ludacris his a punchline perfectionist, T.I I haven't checked much of his stuff, but I'ma take peoples word for it, cause the majority say his good. Outkast, Goodie Mob, Scarface are also great rappers from the south, and there's a few more.

Only reason Southern rappers are always the main target is because they're the ones who are selling incredibly atm, and most of those albums are heavily wack and an insult to both the foundation and the great rappers of the South and Hip Hop altogether. So that's what Solar meant and that's what everyone means when they call the South not Hip Hop, its because the new artists coming from the south are a disgrace all together. They don't contribute to music whatsoever, only thing they contribute to is money. That's what labels do now days, they look for "actor/rappers" who lay catchy vocals on a clubby beat, which I bet even a non rapper can write. Nursery rhymes. A skillful artist says no to nursery rhymes, makes real hip hop music, and does it for the music not the money.

Yeah no shit people know about Hip Hop because of the hard working labels that commercialised Hip Hop through business strategies. But why do you care about that shit? as a fan you should be caring about the music and music only most of the time. I guess your into the business talk and all, whatever though its your opinion. I just couldn't help notice you said:
Hip-hop as a business is doing fine too. Although one might hate the shit thats at the top of the charts, hip-hop songs stay at the top of the charts. Eminem is the best selling artist of the 2000s!!

Eminem:
look at my sales, let's do the math, if I was black, I would've sold half
I ain't have to graduate from Lincoln high school to know that

i agree with danigantt here on the most part.

at the end IT IS a business. and they wouldnt take it seriously if money isnt involved, cuz money is everything. people who say its the root of all evil just dont have it.

ofcourse we have to balance out everything. love for hip hop stays where it is and business stays where it is, so for these artists who are true to hip hop and make money of it at the same time, the feeling just has to be beautiful.
