I remember reading Master P's name in an article, his name was down in the list as one of the wackest rappers of all time lol. The way you look at Hip Hop is in a business form, why? why do you care if they're selling records or not? A Hip Hop fan or any other music fan, should have the decency to check out an artist, for the sake of and the love of music not the sales. You shouldn't be calling Hip Hop a business, that's an insult. It's a culture, a lifestyle for most, way of thinking, way of life for the true die hard fans. Although I agree about Ludacris his a punchline perfectionist, T.I I haven't checked much of his stuff, but I'ma take peoples word for it, cause the majority say his good. Outkast, Goodie Mob, Scarface are also great rappers from the south, and there's a few more.
Only reason Southern rappers are always the main target is because they're the ones who are selling incredibly atm, and most of those albums are heavily wack and an insult to both the foundation and the great rappers of the South and Hip Hop altogether. So that's what Solar meant and that's what everyone means when they call the South not Hip Hop, its because the new artists coming from the south are a disgrace all together. They don't contribute to music whatsoever, only thing they contribute to is money. That's what labels do now days, they look for "actor/rappers" who lay catchy vocals on a clubby beat, which I bet even a non rapper can write. Nursery rhymes. A skillful artist says no to nursery rhymes, makes real hip hop music, and does it for the music not the money.
