The Saddest Hip-Hop Songs

Postby Relapse.LP » Sep 30th, '09, 06:56

Give a list of some really sad/depressing hip-hop songs you know...

Dance with the Devil - Immortal Technique

I Ain't Mad At Cha - 2Pac

Stan - Eminem

Me & My Bitch - The Notorious B.I.G.

Brenda's Got a Baby - 2Pac

When I'm Gone - Eminem

Song Cry - Jay-Z

I'm probably missing a lot, but oh well. Yours? :sweating:

My favorite out of the ones I have above is Me & My Bitch. Damn, that song gets me teared up everytime from the storyline... amazingly dope. And I am biased to Biggie the King.

Honorable Mention goes to Stan or I Ain't Mad At Cha. Stan is self-explanatory and I Ain't Mad At Cha has one of the saddest messages in hip hop, in my opinion, with a haunting piano beat.
Yo, from the first to the last of it; delivery is passionate/
The whole and not the half of it; vocab and not the math of it/
Projectile that them blasted with; accurate assassin shit/
Me and Kweli close like... Bethlehem and Nazareth/

Ironically enough, I think any song where a rapper talks about loving a girl or even hating on a girl, is sad when I hear it because I get upset over a girl I lost or just the fact that it reminds me of angry songs I wrote about a girl because of what she did, therefore making it sad.

Interesting topic btw :y:

I forgot...

Cradle to the Grave - Mobb Deep

The skit before that and the song blend so well... depressing message. Fuck it, The Infamous is a depressing album. Pop it in on a rainy day after something terrible happens to you and it's like...
