Havoc influenced by RZA?

Postby Relapse.LP » Dec 28th, '09, 22:45

Anyone notice that Havoc's production on Hell on Earth was drastically different from his original work on The Infamous?

He started using stringed instruments and darker samples, like how RZA laced Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... And Hell on Earth was released in 1996, while Raekwon's album was released in 1995.

Just peep Knowledge God and Bloodsport. :o

I don't know; it was sorta weird when I went back and replayed Hell on Earth. :confusion:

Could be yeah, RZA may have influenced a lot of producers.

I had thought about it long ago, but I conclude that Havoc couldn't really influenced from RZA. I think is more likely the album theme "Hell on Earth" that make him use darker samples, etc.

Havoc was definitly influenced by Rza, his production on Hell on Earth is very Rza like, but I think Rza took some tips from Havoc aswell, This http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Or1Zk6w2UM sounds alot like a Havoc beat

Probably true, but the amount of particularly, stringed samples, possesses a certain similarity to the entirety of RZA's production on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...

Hm, it's not too much like a Havoc beat, from what I've heard from the man, but definitely not the Wu sound. Jesus Christ, I forgot to bump Capital Punishment for a while. Been several months since I put this in my car stereo. Reminded me to do so again. :shifty:

Yeah it's too similar. Also Wu-Tang and Mobb Deep are from New York so it's very possible to get influenced by one another.

It reminds me alot of ''Eye for an eye'' off the Infamous, could be just me though
Both of them have that eerie feeling to their production!

Super Lyrical is mad ill. Pun got, arguably, almost all of the great producers to contribute to his classic record. Dope, just bumped a third of the tracks and not one disappointing yet. :y:

For fucking real man I feel you. Seems like RZA plays a major influence on Havoc. Cause Hell On Earth and OB4QL has VERY similar beats, specially Rainy Dayz. :o Could of sworn that beat is produced by Havoc. :o I think once Hav heard OB4QL he realized he needed to step up his sampling game up, which made him to pick out better samples for melodies, so in this case RZA was more experienced at the time and Hav took that as inspiration to step up his game and so he did on Hell On Earth. If you look back at The Infamous, it was released before OB4QL by a couple of months, and Hav's beats were a lot more old school/raw sounding, where as on Hell On Earth its like he stepped the fuck up by a mile. Flow wise, its easier to flow on Havoc's beats than RZA's beats, I mean Hav's drums are better. So I think melody wise they both got that shit on lock, but the drums is what it separates the two. OB4QL melodies > Hell On Earth melodies without a fucking doubt in mind. That album has the best melodies I've heard in my life on one project, damn did RZA get a good sleep before he started working on that shit!!

Man your making me feel like I'm living in the 90's now damn, bumps the fuck out of OB4QL.
