Stillmatic>Illmatic

It's not even comparable. Almost every song on Stillmatic is awesome. The songs all sound very similar on Illmatic, like you could interchange the lyrics between songs. One Mic shows his mastery of delivery. You're Da Man is my favorite song on it. Definitely a CD where I don't skip a track. Really cemented my love for Nas.

That's a bit lower down on my list, still nice.

It's funny how people overlook Destroy And Rebuild just because Ether was on the same disc. Love the homage to Slick Rick (Though I personally never liked him) and it was very personal.

Either way, both are fuckin' classic. Flawless albums. :8)

Would probably agree in terms of a full-album.

I always loved Illmatic but only ever for a few songs. I never would listen to it top to bottom, I just love "Halftime" and "N.Y State of Mind" the most.

Which is kind of weird saying you love an album for 2-4 songs haha. But I did like the others, it's just nothing stood out to me like those. But I still considered the rest classic songs too.

There's nothing of the quality of those songs on Stillmatic to me though.

I actually agree. Illmatic is amazing and has some really dope tracks, but I just enjoy Stillmatic as an album much more.

Illmatic is a better album. I think Stillmatic has the best individual tracks such as the Intro, Got Yourself A Gun, One Mic and Rule. But for me there's a few fillers in there that kinda take away from the album whereas Illmatic is more consistent IMO.

And the rest of the album... No fillers on Stillmatic.

Agreed. I fucking love stillmatic. The first 4 tracks on Illmatic are probably my favorite opening sequence on any album.

Stillmatic (The Intro)- "I'm back" is basically the theme. Some dope one liners like:

"They thought I'll make another "Illmatic"
But it's always forward I'm moving
Never backwards stupid here's another classic"

Love it.

Ether- Such a monumental track. GOAT diss record ever IMO. Jay Z got shat on.

Got Ur Self A..-After just completely annihilating Jay Z he comes back to basically say "who else wants some?". Dope.

Smokin'-Basically introduces the rest of the album. Great smoking song.

Stillmatic=one of the few albums of the 2000's that can be mentioned in the same breath as MMLP/TES. man I forgot how much I love this album...

/jizz fest.
