...that some truly DOPE rappers are being slept on, over this Drake and Young Money bullshit

I mean, you got Hopsin who deserves to blow up, fucking killer lyricism (just for one example). But you also got older, better rappers who aren't selling SHIT, like Ice Cube and Rakim, even though they USED to sell. And, what's even sadder is Dre will most likely not sell that much either when Detox drops, probably 200-300K tops for the first week, if he's lucky. Shit, I'll actually be surprised if he sells 300K

So, thoughts, anyone? Who do you think deserves to blow up?

Hopsin will blow up eventually. Tech N9ne is buzzing like crazy, about time :flutter: Tech is gonna be HUGE in the mainstream in a few months if he plays his cards right. Royce might just reach some type of fame along with SH.

Also, Nas should sell more.

I think Detox gonna sell a lot. Where I live, nobody gave a fuck about dre and they were like "yeah i heard that song, snoop dogg akon and who was the other one? yeah i forgot but he killed it" and everybody is listening to the song, everywhere they bump it.

Kush was a sucess i think, so will be Detox. I hope it's gonna be a good album, but everbody expects too much for this. 11 years of waiting.. no album is worth waiting that.

About Hopsin, he's a cool dude and his songs are awesome. nothing else to say :y:

Big Krit his last albums was dope.

And it's a shame that many old school semi mainstream rappers don't sell that much anymore or have been pushed completely to Underground. (OC, Az, Bootcamp Clik)

J. Cole, Sadistik, Spoonful

Not saying any of them will, but they deserve it based on their skill and the effort put into their music.

I'd love LowKey to get more attention - I know he wouldn't sign a deal if it meant his music/artistry would be effected but I'd just love to hear his kind of music in the mainstream.

It would be amazing for hip-hop to have such a smart, down-to-earth, fantastic lyricist with potent messages representing the genre in some way.

Obviously, his music isn't radio-friendly and some of his stuff is too controversial but I hate how hip-hop at the moment is still being represented in the mainstream by such shitty artists.

I'm not gonna lie I was a fan of Wayne before Carter 3, after that I just stopped following him altogether though No ceilings was a decent mixtape.

That's the worst thing. I don't care if Gucci Mane makes more money than Ghostface killah (or any other great emcee). It's just annoying that people who are into other genres think hip hop is all about gold chains, cars, hoes etc. Sometimes I just hate telling people that I love hip hop cus I know what type of reaction that I'll get.

Steretyping is easy that's why same reason people think country is all about alcoholism, homophobia and jingoism; and metal is all about satanism, violence and angst.
