10 'Old-Ass Rappers' Lil Wayne Might Be Talking About On 'Roman's Revenge 2.0'

It was only a matter of time before Lil Wayne found the time to jump on Nicki Minaj's ferocious "Roman's Revenge"—a song that Wayne's "No Love" collaborator Eminem tore to shreds at the end of 2010. And in true Weezy fashion, he ripped "Roman's Revenge 2.0" to pieces with a series of lines that took a more comedic approach than Nicki or Em did on the original.

But there was one line that definitely stood out amongst all the others. "Old-ass rappers," he raps towards the end of his verse, "I'm still the shit, old-ass Pampers." That line had the Internet goin' nuts yesterday with people wondering which "old-ass rappers" Wayne could be referring to on the song. So, who was Wayne talking about? We're not 100 percent sure, but to help you try and decode Weezy's sneak diss, we came up with a list of 10 rappers over the age of 35 that fit the bill (no shots!). Take a look and then let us know who you think he had in his crosshairs.—Chris Yuscavage

"Old-Ass Rapper" 1

Rapper: Busta Rhymes

Age: 38

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? Well, Wayne did pick a song that interpolates a Busta Rhymes' line from A Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario" to refer to old-ass rappers. So it'd be a clever move on his part to take a shot at Bus on this particular track. However, unless something went terribly wrong when Busta and Wayne got together to drop guest verses on the recent Chris Brown track, "Look At Me Now," we're gonna assume these two don't have any problems right now.

"Old-Ass Rapper" 2

Rapper: Snoop Dogg

Age: 39

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? Remember back in 2009 when Snoop put out a song called "Protocol" that allegedly featured some shots at Lil Wayne and Birdman? Yeah, us either. But according to Google, that song exists and while Snoop has denied that the song was meant as a slight towards the two, Snoop and Wayne haven't worked together extensively so there could be something here. Then again, Wayne did rap, "It's Blood gang, slime, but I poli with Snoop," on Drake's song "Miss Me" last year so maybe we're just looking too deep into this one.

"Old-Ass Rapper" 3

Rapper: Bun B

Age: 37

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? Having been around since the late-1980s, Bun B is a true OG in the rap game. And more than 20 years after kicking off his career, he's still making relevant music. Plus, he's done a lot of work with Wayne's labelmate Drake and lent his guest vocals to a handful of Weezy tracks. We don't think Wayne would bite the hand of a Southern rap legend.

"Old-Ass Rapper" 4

Rapper: Pharrell

Age: 37

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? Calling Pharrell a rapper—at least these days—is a little bit misleading. Sure, he spit a few bars on the Neptunes' latest 2010 release, Nothing, but we wouldn't exactly say he was the hottest rapper on the planet last year. So we wouldn't blame Wayne for calling Pharrell out for refusing to put down the mic. That said, he's probably not...but it's cool for us to dream, right?

"Old-Ass Rapper" 5

Rapper: Scarface

Age: 40

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? Like Bun B, just about every Southern rapper owes at least a part of their success to 'Face. He helped popularize Southern rap music. And while it could be argued that he hasn't had a serious impact on the game in recent years, we doubt Wayne would fault him for that and take a shot at him. Respect the OG's gangster, youngster.

"Old-Ass Rapper" 6

Rapper: Ice Cube

Age: 41

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? In the months leading up to the release of Cube's ninth solo album, I Am The West, the former N.W.A. member released a song called "I Rep The West" that featured some subliminal (and some not-so-subliminal!) shots at everyone from Jay-Z and Kanye West to Eminem and—you guessed it—Lil Wayne. But Wayne was, of course, in prison at the time, so it wouldn't shock us to hear that he was just getting around to dropping a response to Cube now that he's gotten back into the booth.

"Old-Ass Rapper" 7

Rapper: Birdman

Age: 41

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? If Wayne didn't call Birdman "daddy," we're pretty sure he would be one of the old-ass rappers Wayne called out. Seriously: Why is this guy still making music? Isn't he eating well enough off Cash Money artists to chill out on creating new tracks? But, of course, Wayne does call Birdman "daddy" so this is a mute point. Weezy is definitely not picking on him.

"Old-Ass Rapper" 8

Rapper: Nas

Age: 37

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? Didn't Nas start talking his "hip-hop is dead" ish right around the time Wayne started to ascend to the top of the charts? By our calculations, he did. Nas also dethroned Wayne's last album, Tha Carter III, from the top of the Billboard 200 chart back in 2008. Still, Nas did ask Wayne to appear on last year's Distant Relatives album alongside Damien Marley so we're pretty sure this relationship is all kosher.

"Old-Ass Rapper" 9

Rapper: Eminem

Age: 38

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Talking About? Hmmm....Wayne jumps on a track that Em already killed and kills it just as well? Then, he makes a remark about old-ass rappers who can't keep up with him? Could he talking about....Eh, doubtful. Wayne and Em did did Saturday Night Live together after all and they look poised to do some more work in the future. So there's really no need for Wayne to burn the bridge between them.

"Old-Ass Rapper" 10

Rapper: Jay-Z

Age: 41

Is He The "Old-Ass Rapper" Lil Wayne Is Rapping About? Yeah, yeah, we know you've been waiting for us to say Hov's name since you started reading this list. And, you know what? We don't blame you. If you want to be the best, you've got to beat the best, right? So it's very possible Wayne is looking to make some major waves by invoking the name of one of the most popular MCs of all-time. And the fact that Drake talked about him and Wayne owning the throne last week during an interview—as opposed to Jay and Kanye—only adds fuel to the fire. Could Wayne be throwing rocks at the throne? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Wayne would be a fool to diss Eminem in that song. He's stated already that he can't fuck with him, and would probably suck his dick for a collaboration album

I think it's very obvious he's talking about Jay.

He's said that "old ass rappers" thing about Jay countless times, then Jay finally responded with "30 something" and "Trouble".

He murdered this little wannabe countless times.

Then Birdman ran his mouth again, about how he was worth more than Jay and how Wayne is worth more than Jay.

Then Jay embarassed them again on H*A*M with the "Baby money" line.

So now Wayne goes at him again....with the usual childish insult, cause he has nothing else in his arsenal.

He's talking about Warren Buffet with the "Great white" line.

Listen to the bars after it, he's talking about making business deals with the Great Whites, referring to the Forbes cover with him and the 2nd richest (?) man in the world Warren Buffet.

Yes but after saying something like that I highly doubt he would attempt to diss Em
