Bun B - Mad underrated

Postby FreeSpeech » Jan 19th, '11, 02:28

I feel this dude get's so little props from so many otherwise-informed rap fans. I've heard a good amount of people who don't even realize he was in UGK. II Trill was agreat album, check it out if you haven't.

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Hell fucking yes!!

I've been bumping the hell outta Ridin' Dirty the last few months, Big Bun drops some of the best verses I've ever heard on that album

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poXOyoKB9hY

^ Buns verse on that, woah! :worship:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQJjAkjljIU

^ most people have heard a part of Bun's 1st verse whether they have the song or not, one of Jay's most notorious "biting" instances
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

Yeah his verse on Murder is sick, the delivery is perfect. He kinda reminds me of a southern Biggie.

I agree overall he is definietely underrated, I think he was the heart and soul of UGK when it came to skills, but Pimp C had the bigger personality.

However, I gotta say his last album was majorly overrated. No where near 5 mics.

His career reminds me a lot of E-40's where they cruise along without many paying attention and overlooking them, then they drop decent CDS which are very unlike their previous releases and somehow they get a lot of attention and everyone hops on the bandwagon.
The New York Times - "Lloyd Banks may have stealthily become the most important rapper in New York".

I adore his verse on "Nobody Fucking With Us" on Bar Exam 3 and I have his new album on my iPod I just haven't given it a needed listen.

I probably got more respect for Bun B than anybody in the game right now. Geat mc, UGK will probably never get the props they deserve.

I like his voice and rhyming but to be honest you guys are putting him on a pedestal. If he was popular you guys would treat him like Rick Ross. Be honest.

For the record I love UGK.

Absolutely not.

Bun B is a legend, along with Pimp C, Scarface, 8Ball & MJG and such.

Rick Ross is NOT a legend.

Bun B is the Southern equivalent to guys such as Rakim the East, or Ice Cube in the West.

I didn't say anything about his legacy did I?

The Furious 5 and Beastie Boys are legendary but they aren't great rappers.

I like how many wannabe e celebrities this site has coasting around trying to drop their worthless two cents no one gives a shit about.

"Oh hey look there's a thread about a rapper I don't like, I'll just drop by and say something to stir up some controversy, and drop some knowledge on you pissants, just don't mind me."

No one cares about your worthless opinion, you white noise poster, go shitpost elsewhere.
