do u thinks its the best genre in music,i know,VERY FUCKING SUBJECTIVE,but still.

i without a doubt think it is the most intriguing,most complex,the smartest genre ever.

what is conveyed in some of the songs we listen too is just unmatched.

plus it requires REAL talent,not anybody can be a mainstream rapper except for a few untalented cunts,but even if they are untalented,getting famous requires talent,reaching fame just doesnt come easy.

plus,hip hop was first known in the 80's,started in the 70's though,thats 40 years,that aint shit compared to other genre's (rock,pop,jazz,blues) Look how many Legendary MC's we got in just 40 years and only 3 generations,it is stilllll Very young to have a GOAT,besides Em

Don't be so close minded when it comes to music.

When I was younger I used to have a similiar attitude tbh. All I listened to was Hip Hop / Rap and I had a "fuck the rest" mentality, because it was all I was interested in.

There is so much great music out there though, in many genres.

Hip-Hop is one of my favourite genres sure, but it doesn't mean I only have to listen to hip-hop.

Don't put things in boxes (genre) and just listen to music.

I love rap and it is my favorite genre without a doubt, but you can't truly call a certain genre the best. I hate to play the subjective card and be a hypocrite because I always criticize people who fall back on that card, but it really is a matter of one's personal tastes. And your environments and surrounding play a huge influence on what you like on a genre, sorta like how if you grew up in the country you might take a liking towards country, whereas if you grew up in the inner city than you'll most likely take a liking towards hip hop. Not to mention if I grew up during the time when raps wasn't as mainstream I'd probably listen to whatever genre was more prevalent at the time .

I will tell you one thing though, that I am completely clueless towards other genres outside hip hop, and listen to whatever's on the radio. I'll give you a hint I listen to Katy perry.

@This topic no. There's so many factors it's impossible to call any one genre objectively the best, most talented, or "technically better". Every artist has it's own sound and great musicians. Whether or not you like them is up to you, but the only fact is they're all great for what they are. You like the sound of this, that much is obvious.

Others appreciate Jazz and other faggy shit. If this were the greatest genre, then everybody who appreciate that faggy shit would also appreciate Hip-hop, but they don't. It's subjective (I fucking hate that word), but that is what's great about music: There's so much for everyone, everybody enjoys music. There's so much we still haven't heard.

Not to mention this is probably the easiest genre to dive into, but I'll say it's probably the most lyrical genre because of obvious reasons.

Music is what feelings sound like, I cater my music taste to how I feel. If I can relate to music X, I'll listen to music X. I, honestly, can't be bothered with ''genres'', because all I they do is put people and music in boxes. Music is universal.

What people seem to forget is that every genre borrows from each other. Hip Hop music has been influenced by Jazz, Blues, and Rock. A lot of Hip Hop instrumentals are made of Jazz, Blues, and Rock instruments/samples. Hip Hop music, in its essence, is poetry over Jazz, Bluess, and in some cases, Rock instruments.

One of the reasons rap is my favorite genre is that it is so lyric based. I like to listen to the words when I listen to music. That sounds like a no-brainer but a lot of people don't and you can afford to do that a lot more in other genres like rock.

HIp Hop is currently my favorite genre, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's the best. It's what appeals to me the most, but one person can't be the judge of which genre is the best. Nor could a group of people, for that matter. You can pick your favorite, but not the absolute best.

There's plenty of great music out there.
