Death is Certain

Postby Innovation » Jun 25th, '11, 19:59

I've always liked Royce but never really dug into his discography. I loved what he did with Slaughterhouse so I checked out Street Hop and The Bar Exam 3 but I never really thought they were amazing. I decided to check out Death is Certain wow, I've been missing out on a classic.

The album flows so well, the production is fantastic and his rhyming is solid throughout. There's a lot of introspective tracks on there which he executes so well. Fantastic album.

I've had it on repeat for the last two days lol, such a good album.

I know it's an old album but what are your thoughts on it? If you haven't checked it out, defiantly give it a listen. Such a good album.

I think I fell alsleep listening to it & the only song I ever replayed was I Won't Be
but that was mainly due to the beat so....

One of the Best albums of all time in my opinion, its great for him aswell, because he can listen to it and look at how he got back up and out of the depression the album led to, its such a Dark album .. and regardless, Amazing intro :worship:

Defiantly Royce's best imo, although people on here over-rate it something fierce.

There's no song on Death Is Certain called I Won't Be, buddy.

Yes, Death Is Certain is definitely one of the best Hip Hop album I've ever heard. I'm with Raids on this one. I don't even have to explain myself since everyone knows what I think about this album.

I really don't think it's that good.

I like Royce but I find Street Hop much more enjoyable and creative.

I find Death Is Certain average and certainly couldn't call it a classic.

Saying Street Hop > Death Is Certain is like saying Relapse/Recovery is better than The Eminem Show.

Exactly the same.

You said TES = Relapse. Which is still a weird opinion anyway.

I always have to reply to you when you say this lol.

Relapse shouldn't even be mentioned in the same league as TES (bar Deja Vu and maybe My Mom), let alone be called better. What's better on Relapse than TES?

The rhyming on TES > Relapse. The delivery and execution on TES > Relapse. Everything on TES is better than Relapse imo.

This. The only song on Relapse that is on some TES level is Deja Vu and maybe SWA. I don't really like My Mom tbh.
