More Decent Rappers

Postby EminemBase » Jun 6th, '13, 12:54

Don't you think rappers coming up recently are a lot better than... for a long-time...

Just listening to "1 Train" again and... just thinking - the amount of technically good and creative rappers getting mainstream light now is really good.

Like, can you imagine Action Bronson getting even a mention in 2005?

Kendrick, Black Hippy, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Asher Roth... it is like a whole new league. Mainstream rap is in a much better place than it's been for a while.

There were times that wouldn't apply but let's say it applies for the last 5-6 years or so.

Well honestly there were different kind of rappers even in the hardest periods in hip-hops history but I get your point & feel kinda the same way. :y:

An insightful conversation on the matter. Completely agree with Myke C-town on that the way rappers dont need to sound a certain way to be lyrical has made it easier for the Krits and Kendricks to emerge.

Yes, I agree.

Although, unfortunately, there is still the likes of 2Chainz and Future lurking around.

Riff Raff and Lil B are stupid, I don't even find them funny. Let alone take them seriously..

Bada$$, Bronson, Yelawolf, A$ap, Kendrick, J.Cole (not really a newcomer) but yeah Hip Hop is in a good place.

Kendrick and Yelawolf are basically my favorite rappers since... Eminem and Nas

I'm happy to see kendrick becoming a successful rapper, hopefully yelawolf can have the same success with his next album
