Kanye definitely paid for these reviews

Postby fifflaren » Jun 18th, '13, 11:41

yeezus is on his way to be as acclaimed as gkmc or rap music but...

What's the difference between the most acclaimed album of 2013 and the most acclaimed album of 2012 ?

Not necessarily to be honest... like I said in that other thread reviews were/are always about politics & most of it any given reviews could be biased or let alone ignorant.
I was surprised by all those insanely good reviews too but to me at least reviews were never the bar esp. if some dedicated Kanye fans don't really feel the album this time around.

How is that possible for an album to be critically acclaimed, and at the same time hated by the masses ?

The album is being well-recieved on music sites like RYM, Sputnik and the AV Club

I expected high reviews from critics, bare in mind that they've most likely had an extra week of listening time - the album hasn't even been leaked for a week yet

Personally, I find the album a huge grower, but it's such a big turn off at first that (understandably) people are dismissing it right away. Black Skinhead, New Slaves, Blood on the Leaves and Bound2 are some of 'Ye's best material so far - that's nearly half the album's length
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

Obviously GKMC is better and who ever things otherwise is delusional.

I didn't want to turn this thread into a kendrick vs yeezy thread but critically acclaimed albums like gkmc, life is good or rap music are the highest rated albums on a lot of sites !
How is yeezus critically acclaimed when the album is hated by the masses ?

Like I said... reviews are mostly or nearly all about politics. Critics & reviewers often changed their minds or other kinda ish pile up in general so give it some time to see if it will really go down as critically acclaimed in history. I mean bad first week sales & further backlash by Kanye fans can drastically change the status of the album to be honest.
The albums is not that bad to be hated by the masses to be honest though...

The album was meh, started off weak but ended strong in my opinion. Weird beats but his lyrics were spot on. Mac Miller's new CD was way sicker, and I wasn't even a big fan until I heard that new CD of his.

I would rather listen to this than The College Dropout, yeah. Late Registration is debatable but I never found TCD to be anything special.

bigray wrote:So you like this album Kill You? I thought Late Registration was dope and College Drop out was good.

How do you go from this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvb-1wjAtk4 to what he is putting out on Yeezus.

Yes. Mainly for the music, I'll admit, his lyrics are weak. I like this type of music, it's very dark and different. Only thing I hate about the album is the fucker he has singing all over the tracks in the Jamaican accent. I feel like Kanye added a BUNCH of useless shit on this album but I'll still call it decent.

Yeah, LR is dope but as I said TCD isn't anything special to me. I'd rather listen to Yeezus over it.
