Ether vs Takeover

Postby dead prez » Nov 21st, '13, 19:37

While this is beyond tiresome and cliche debate I feel like this needs to be settled once and for all, and I'm down for a good debate. It only seems to be recently that takeover has risen in popularity and possibly eclipsed ether as the better diss (I blame KTT but whatev), so anyone who feels that takeover is better please I'd like to know why. I'll give my reasons why I think ether blows takeover out of the water and shat all over jay z (who I like btw and I'm not a hater), but lately it seems that the song's been relegated to playground insults when it's much more than that.

Also this is merely ether vs takeover, not nas vs jay z, stillmatic vs blueprint (which I find obscenely overrated )or who bought more jets with their money or any of that stupid shit. Though if anyone wants to debate nas vs jay z and who won the beef, I'm down.

Honestly you can't choose. They're both perfect. Ether embarrasses Jay-Z's self respect and street cred but Jay-Z uses his high profile status in the rap game to make Nas look like an amateur combined to him.

I'm on my phone atm and won't be able to really respond to posts till later tonight but I'll just say that if people find mmlp dated for its content as references than damn takeover is practically worthless as a diss now. It had a lot of weight when the question ad to nas falling off and being relevant was being asked but ever since he resuscitated his career and even transcended his ore stillmatic reputation it's beyond worthless and has zero sting, lol. Also it might be the most boring diss other than the sick sick beat Kay's on auto pilot and rly just drops factoids without any ounce of creativity or spice. Nas's playground jokes are help to lighten the mood and show how much of a joke he considers jay z.

Okay I'll give you Ether but Hit Em Up?

Pac basically handed the biggest L in history of Hip Hop. He fucked Faith Evans, BIG's wife.
