Artist - And Best Album (Game)

Aight so this hasn't been done before so I was thinking, since all of us haven't heard every rap album, and most of us hear about rappers and we suddenly wanna cop their best albums. So this thread could help people looking for artists best albums. You can decide to whether stereotype an artists best album or you can provide the best album of that artist in your opinion.

For example like this:

Mobb Deep - Hell on Earth
Twista - Adrenaline Rush (1997) (Highly recommend this if you like fast spittin')
Nas - It Was Written
Royce Da 5'9 - Rock City

So now you get the picture, let the game begin. ;)

Hell on Earth had sicker Havoc beats, IMO, but the emotion was captured on the Infamous, which would take my vote as the best Mobb Deep album.

For Illmatic, it takes all spots, except story-telling, which It Was Written took. :smoking:

I'll give more abstract ones... since I can predict half of the albums people will fucking put.

A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
The D.O.C. - No One Can Do It Better
Brand Nubian - One for All
Main Source - Breaking Atoms
Scarface - The Diary

Sleeping on Return to the 36 Chambers?

That's obviously ODB's best, IMO, but we all are different. :smoking:

Actually I personally prefer RTT36C:TDV over NP.
NP just blew me away with its versatility.
36 is so fucking hardcore with shit like Raw Hide, Protect Ya Neck II, BK Zoo. I love that hardcore shit.

Chet Starr wrote:MF DOOM - MM...Food
Any if only Asp & Yoshi and me like him :(

I'll have to check that one out soon, needa get my MF DOOM game on.

Sean price - Monkey Barz
Ja Rule - Venni Vetti Vecci (very, very, very underrated)
Afu-Ra - Body of the Life Force (hip hop classic imo)
C-N-N - The War Report
Tim Dog - Penicillin on Wax
LA The Darkman - Heist Of The Century
Infamous Mobb - Special Edition
DJ Muggs - Soul Assassins I
Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer
Onyx - Shut Em Down (this album is just too perfect)
Styles Of Beyond - 2000 Fold

@ LP - Exactly why I chose It Was Written over Illmatic, because of story-telling. Plus there's more tracks, and the beats I love more. Nothing wrong with Illmatic beats, amazing beats, but It Was Written just has more material simple as that. Again "Hell on Earth had sicker Havoc beats" one of the reasons why I love that album. It's my personal favourite but really either way it wouldn't matter, both albums are classics, but Hell On Earth deserves as much recognition.

Gave Hell on Earth another listen. It is classic, no doubt, and definitely on the level of The Infamous, on second thought.

The production is Havoc at his sickest (Sounds kinda like RZA on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..., but with harder-hitting snares) and Prodigy doesn't fall lyrically compared to his first. Mobb's Deep second classic has more of a dark-nighttime feel to it (Outlined by "Nighttime Vultures") and their first classic is more of a urban realism depiction with more melodic beats to it, although equally sick.
'
Love them both though. The Infamous got more definite classics, like "Shook Ones Pt. II" and "Temperature's Rising", but Hell on Earth has more consistency, both production-wise and lyrically. Both are just ill, no doubt. Queensbridge pinnacle, for real. :y:

Xzibit- 40 Dayz & 40 Nights

For me, this just edges At The Speed Of Life although it's not perfect as it suffers the same constant faults iin every X album: wack beats on some tracks and pedestrian rappers, but this has the best amount of consistency. Chamber Music is one of the rawest beats i've ever heard, What U See is just classic and Recycled Assains will make you sit down and bop your head. Not just that, the album is refresingly old school sounding with that undescribale sound which suits X now more than this new era.

Gang Starr - Moment Of Truth

I think this is an amazing album, even better than Hard To Earn. It's just great.
