Royce = best alive?

Over the last few moths I've been properly bumping Royce da 5'9' like I never have before. I only really listened to his tracks with Em until a few years back and I bought a couple of his albums (Bar Exam 1 & 2, Death is Certain, MIC Mixtape) and I honestly cant think of him spitting one weak verse.

His rips all the beats he "freestyles" over and Street Hop was probably the best rap album of 2009.

Such a shame he never made it big becuase with his talent he is, IMO, in the top 5 rappers alive.

Royce isn't underground... Underground artists are those who need mainstream exposure.

Slaughterhouse is a mainstream album.

Mainstream doesn't mean "pop" in any sense.

Don't get me wrong, he's a dope rapper and an awesome lyricist, but I think he's lackin' that little extra that so many rappers have to even make it into my top 10 greatest ever.

Because i don't see why everyone feels the need to pigeonhole everyone into lists; you can't sum up opinions based on numerical rating. Tastes in music constantly change, new people are always coming out, so to stick to a "top 5" of all the musicians in the world is pretty stupid. The only lists i use are lists of good music and shit music.

Correct, but at this moment in time, on what I feel at the moment, based on personal prefernce and talent I feel Royce is in the top 5.
