Ludacris - Battle of the sexes

Postby LLockhart86 » Mar 12th, '10, 07:48

Downloaded and deleted it within 10 minutes. No good, only the songs you probably heard already...how low and what not.

Too bad, looks like he might be done.

Worst collaborations and album cover I've ever seen. The music was just as bad. Luda is past it now. Shame really.

He DEFINITELY does not suck.

The problem here is very, very simple.

Ludacris was amongst the elite. He got into acting. He started getting into acting more and more. He started getting roles which were taking time away from him spending proper time in the studio. He released his last album after just a few days in the studio and there was almost no buzz, because the perception of him as a rapper had diminished and other Southern rappers were now ahead of him (not talent wise or lyrically, but in terms of airplay). The album did almost nothing, even though it had some big name features (Nas, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I).

Ludacris seeing how far T.I. was ahead of him now obviously wanted to get back in to Hip Hop and permanently leave his mark. Thus he puts out a concept album full of radio songs so this time, he definitely gets heard.

He definitely is not past it. He's just...caught up.

I feel like his last album was just alright, he needed something much stronger then his last to keep his cred. But he didnt, so, I think its over for him.

Dont get me wrong, he'll still make music, and it will be all over the radio most likely...but the days of him being ranked as one of the better rappers in the game is over.

He still had skill, he's just, off right now or something.

Release Therapy was pretty beast. he even had some deep concepts on it. i didn't bother with the album after that after listening to a couple songs. and this new one sucks balls. i wish he'd go back to Release Therapy type stuff :y:

This album may suck because Luda was trying to go all mainstream with it but he deffinately does not suck. Theatre of The Mind is one of the dopest albums I've heard in a while

his punchlines were still as strong as ever, it's just his concepts...he's in the same position as eminem, stupid concepts but great lyrics.

I wouldn't even consider this a Ludacris album. It was supposed to be like having a female rapper on every track, and then they changed it up. Should have been scrapped. There were still flashes of vintage Luda on the album though. Theatre Of Mind was good to me also, so I really don't think he fell off or that he "sucks these days." People are so quick to tear someone down these days. Can't wait for Ludaversal. Probably 2011.
