Agreed, they might make it in my top 20 though.

BIG is, but not Pac.

Tupac's Letter To My Unborn Child, Changes, Brenda's Got a Baby, Dear Mama and Until The End Of Times are classics in my book though.

Though, I do agree on the fact that Biggie is a better rapper than Pac.

Why not Pac?

He was an incompetent musician.

I wouldn't say that. He might have been lacking the technicalities a lot of great rappers possess, however he managed to touch a lot of people. As a musician he succeeded in reaching a lot of listeners. And I don't think that qualifies as being incompetent.

I judge competency by skill, not "reaching" people.
Kurt Cobain reached millions and changed music forever, but that doesn't change the fact that he couldn't play decent enough guitar to save his life.

Kurt Cobain's death didn't result in a conspiracy such as Pac's. And Pac's lyrics were pretty good, he managed to convey a lot of emotion and not just by utilizing his vocal ability.

big is in my top 10. he had the smooth flow and good stories that i like to listen to. he could make mainstream shit as well as underground felt shit and both styles were good.

pac made songs that touched people as zu said. but he also had the ability as well as big to do that hard shit like Hit Em Up. zu basically covered pac.
hes prob not in my top 10 but 20 probably

yes they have a lot of people that say they like them because they are the biggest name in raps history so they feel theyre safe with them as an answer, overrated... maybe
but i like them. big > pac but both good

Pac changed hip hip though. Big really didn't and didn't have enough albums before his death to cement his legacy. Big is maybe top 15 for me, but because he changed hiphop forever and paved the way for a lot of Hiphop artists, Pac's one for me.

Neither are top 20. B.I.G had more lyrical skill and a better flow but his delievery was the same, his voice ain't that suited to rap and his subject matter was typically predicable. Yeh, Pac was gangster rap chiche but i love artists with meaning behind songs, take Zu's list. That's why Pac was better

If I was to make a list, B.I.G would be at the lower end of my top 10, Pac would be around 15-25
