Great Kanye Lyric

Just listening to Graduation again, by far my favourite Kanye album...

And noticed this lyric which I hadn't really much before as I would usually skip "I Wonder".

That's a great line. People who say he's an inferior lyricist I think are wrong. He's a lot better than many mainstream rappers. He just hasn't mastered his flows yet.

But that is a really clever little line with a head-fuck circular logic to it. Kind of like a line my friend said before which was... "You have to state the obvious, to state the obvious".

Yeah he has some quotables every now and then but I don't think he touches any of the great lyricists like Nas or Em but he doesn't have to, his music speaks for itself. I prefer Late Registration with CD and Graduation close second. His worst was 808's and I'd still give that album a 7/10. His first 3 were some of the best releases of the 2000's, probably all 3 top 20.

I think if he wasn't a major producer first he would definitely get more credit as a rapper. Just like Em would get more credit as a producer if he wasn't who he was on the mic.

That's completely fucking retarded.

I'm not the one making the claim (that Kanye has ghost-writers) so it's not my responsibility to prove anything. The burden of proof is on those who make the claim.

So trying to flip the responsibility is a transparent cop-out. That's like me saying I can climb inside myself and you saying "yeah right". And me saying "Can you prove I CAN'T climb inside myself?". Now there's no way you can prove I CAN'T but that doesn't therefore = I can.

There's a million things you can't 'disprove' that doesn't mean they're likely. Either prove your claims or shut the fuck up. Also the little smoking face you put as if that tactic is something savvy or new is cringing. It's the oldest, most tired, most desperate response in the book.

It's a well known fact that Rhymefest ghost wrote Jesus Walks for Kanye - I'd say he writes the majority of his material himself though

Yes it is a well-known fact that Rhymefest co-wrote that song. He even won a Grammy for it.

But it's not a well-known fact Kanye has ghost-writers in general. In reality a lot of writers have help they just don't credit people as it's usually just the odd word or line. Which I think is fair.

For example Kanye has helped a lot of rappers who have never credited him, guys he's produced for. He said he would help them word things better etc. and then when he started rapping he thought fuck that.
