he is one of the hottest rappers right now with no single and no album out and I wouldn't be surprised if he was on MMLP2

no single ? Image they shot a video for Money Trees and he's performing the song at the BET in 2 weeks, tde are definitely going to release MT as a single after the BET awards.

the single(s), the grammy and the tour with kanye... they'll try to push the album at minimum 1.5M

The fuck you talkin about?

He's saying Drake targets the teen hip hop fans and the fans of all this current radio hip hop nonsense.

Hopefully that will die down though and we'll get back to some legit hip hop with guys like Kendrick, SH, Yela and a few other guys.

he said he Drake dipped into wannabe hip hop fans. I responded with names that like Drake who isn't wannabe hip hop fans.

So Drake isn't legit hip hop? You got it man. People really need to get off this "Drake sucks" bandwagon.

nah you got my statement twisted

i mean it in the sense that drake appeals mostly to the 21 and under girls and fans who think he's rap(hence wannabe hip hop fans) I've seen it too many times. Ask any adult under 35 and over 21 if they listen to drake. i go to the mall and stores are pushing drake backpacks and other merch aimed at the younger crowd.

I get on a nas video or an andre 3k and theres always that one comment preaching how drake started from the bottom. 9 times outta 10 you ask the real drake fanbase what else they listen to and i guarantee you'll see wayne, nikki and 2chains on their list.

Dont get me wrong he makes some bangers and he's dope at times. but just like nelly 10 years ago, he's respected. But to call them rappers is outrageous

Can anyone tell me what the fuck Kendrick Lamar was thinking doing a song with Robin fucking Thicke?

Jesus I saw him on that corny video and listened to his corny verse and felt bitterly disappointed.

I thought the verse was pretty good.

bigray wrote:Kendrick hasn't hit his prime imo so he has a lot left in the tank to make it least 2 or 3 more classics or excellent albums and i have a feeling we'll get a more aggressive/rap type album with his next, i mean Section 80 had a jazz type feeling and GKMC had like a little mixture of different styles and i feel his next will have like a west coast feeling to it.

he said that he wanted to work with Dj Quik and release an album with a cohesive west coast sound :y:

It makes sense because he played a song produced by Dre during a listening party but the song didn't make the album's cut because it didn't fit gkmc's story

Collect calls was supposed to be the 1st track and cartoon & cereal the second track on gkmc but they couldn't clear the sample so he gave the song to Gunplay :'(

Aone10 wrote:So do I...

I think he'll be using that new aggressive delivery he was developed on songs like Fragile and Control. Shit is gonna be GOAT.

Kendrick experiments a lot between 2 albums but his guest verses have absolutely nothing to do with his albums ^^
everybody was surprised when he went from OD to s80 and all his fans were surprised when he went from s80 to gkmc :sweating:

Aone10 wrote:I think Kendrick is going to let loose on his next album. I think it'll be a bit more braggadocio mixed in with some introspective records. Sonically, I can see him paying homage to vintage West Coast production. Eminem can definitely find his place on an album like that.

I also feel that Kendrick will bring the best out of Eminem.

Bingo :y:

"He doesn’t divulge much more about a follow-up, except that he wants to work with the legendary Compton rapper and producer DJ Quik to “bring that original sound that people have been missing from the West Coast for a while,” and that he’s not stressed about expectations."

I think an opening track like "The Recipe" would be fucking nice. I love that song.

kdot said that he was going to work on his album after his tour but according to 50, he's already sitting on a few songs.

he also worked with Dre on more than 20 songs and he keeps them for another project, probably this one :y:
Most of gkmc was written before s80 but it took him 6 months to work with the producers to find a cohesive sound, he said that the album we are listening to right now is the album that he gave to Dre, it's probably the reason why s80 sounds a lil bit more mature lyrically
