It's somewhat clever, but 100% innapropriate for the song. He isn't that type of rapper, and that line didn't fit. Like, there's a lot of dope Gravediggaz and Brotha Lynch Hung lines, but they'd be messed up if used by dudes like Drake or Jay-Z. Get it?

Yeah I get what you mean, different styles of hip hop that don't mix well together. It'd be like DMX making a gospel song..... wait :shifty:
But yeah I get what you mean, horrorcore is just my favorite style so I'm drawn to lines (pun intended) like that.

Not to get off topic (which is 100% what i'm doing) but DMX making a "gospel song" wasn't weird at all. I assume you're talking about Jesus Loves Me or Lord Give Me a Sign? DMX has always talked about God, and he's gotten more religious recently after all his problems. On his first album he had a skit which was a whole prayer to God.

What the shit? I thought he didn't go all religious till later. I mean how's that on the same album as X Is Coming.

Same way Eminem has Same Song And Dance on the same album as Beautiful.
"It's entertainment, I get sick of trying to explain it" - Eminem

DMX has a prayer at the end of every album, and he's done other religious songs. Angel, A Minute For Your Son, The Rain, etc.

True actually a lot of albums have shit like that SSLP had Rock Bottom & If I Had smack dab in the middle of an album mainly about drugs, murder & rape. MMLP had Stan in an album again full of drugs, rape, murder & anger. TES had Drips in the middle of an emotional album. It's just weird how DMXs album has a song where he talks to the devil on the same album with a skit praying to god, but I guess in the same way it's weird it's also genius. Creating a paradox.
