yep i do the same.Some grow on me after i pay attention to the lyrics even if its not a great beat/flow etc..some dont.

Words said aren't that important to me. The most important things are the beat, the flow, a good sounding hook.

to be honest I try to listen for lyrics first and foremost, but if the flow/delivery is SHIT (worse than Redman at his worst) than i don't even bother.
as a rapper its very depressing that lyrics are the last to be analyzed, but it makes sense that the average consumer would do that.


If a rapper REALLY dont give a shit about Rhyme / Delivery / Production, he should be a ghost-writter or Poet. Rap is music.

Both..It depends..If the beat sucks, I just listen to the lyric and vice versa.
