LOL, anyways tbh that's a list of shit that you have to take in and digest. Normally when I listen to an album I try to take my time with it and spend a few weeks listening to just one album, but damn. Anyways I could just end this by linking you to someone's RYM account who listened and reviewed Hip Hop albums till it's inception to present day, but that'd be boring and ruin the thread.

So I guess I I'll keep playing the game

Blackalicious-Blazing Arrow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIiMIZXdqOM

This album's great if you like rap with melody and GOG is catchy as hell, but is still a great mc and his internals are intricate. The only thing that may turn you away from him is his Afrocentric Native Tongues lyrics, but it's alright.

Busdriver-Temporary Forever
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swe478BwZRg
This guy is weird and may seem gimmicky, and is probably an acquired taste but he's definitely unique. The album's rare and pretty vintage, I couldn't find some songs on youtube, I might buy it cause of how rare it is.

Giggs IS real hip hop bro

Obviously the main demographics of this forum (white suburban teenagers who have had good lives, never been in any trouble, and have mommy and daddy sort out any other worries for them....and like safe non-threatening hip hop such as Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco, Drake, and Kanye West) aren't going to appreciate what Giggs is saying, but it's real out here fam. Real hip hop heads (not new wave faggots) respect my mans craft

Hmm let's see

I grew up with one parent from age 13 onwards, who was on benefits. So that's the "sort out worries" part thrown out. I hate Kid Cudi and Drake, Kanye and Lupe are decidedly meh. I honestly hate 95% of what comes on the radio, so don't give me that "if u dont like giggs ur a mainstream fgt" shit. And I don't give a fuck how hard you think this guy is, being a thug does not automatically make you a good rapper. This is exactly the kind of mindstate which makes me despise grime music culture. The kind of idiots who would watch Next Hype and think it's something to admire, rather than see that he is taking the piss of all the loud-mouthed cunts (of course, that's my assumption; it could be that Tempa T is an equally large nutcase and is being serious, the beginning of the video is certainly pretty fucking psychotic so who knows)

I know I said I understood your reasons in another thread, but these generalisations you make just get on my tits sometimes haha, take no offence

Now screw you im off to listen to my nerdcore heroes Rhyme Asylum

(Sorry Class I had to reply)

I'm not debating with you about it on this thread, it's for albums. However if you want to make a thread of Classic Hip-Hop vs. Underground Hip-Hop I will gladly smash you.

Yeah but let's be honest, the 'underground' rappers you like aren't exactly 'threatening' are they. Your fav underground rappers are similiar to mainstream in the fact it's safe music. They are more conscious rappers, as opposed to hungry grimy youts straight from a tower block.

You could play Rhyme Asylum to your mom, and she wouldn't be that offended, is what I mean.

And Giggs is NOT a part of the grime scene lol. He is like 7000 miles away from grime. Plus Grime died a few years ago. Grime in 2011 = non-existant

That doesn't really make a difference, and half the albums you listed aren't even classic like F&L, Joell Ortiz's albums, Stillmatic, Be.

Either way you shouldn't put separate Hip Hop into different categories of Old School or underground just enjoy the music, besides I'm pretty sure there's artists that break the mold of the stereotypes that said acts may have.

i.e. Old School music not being lyrical (Siah and Yeshua, Nas)
i.e. Underground having shitty production and mcs having no personality (Blackalicious, Cunninlynguists)

Not to mention there could be artists that fall under both categories of old school (even though most people refer to anything pre 2000 as old school) and underground.

Why are you so obsessed with your music being made by cunts? I'm sorry but that's how I would describe these kind of people. Being the type of person who will beat the fuck out of someone just cause they think it makes em hard is not a good thing, and that's exactly the kind of people you are describing. I apologise if you disagree on this view, if you think there's nothing better than rappers who pull knives on kids in the street because "you looked at man funny blad" but there is nothing I hate more than people like that.

lolwut?

I don't condone anything like that all. If there are people like that, then they are absolute scum.

I just like grime purely from an entertainment aspect. I disagree with the majority of the content, because it isn't me, but it's just fun and enjoyable to listen to.

Look at it like this. They are basically just saying in audio form what goes on in Scarface, Goodfellas, The Godfather (or any other classic gangster/mob movie). You watch those films for entertainment, and even though the content is very similiar, those movies get labelled as classics, whilst grime mc's get labelled as thugs.

It's just entertainment.
