I agree; those Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Snoop Dogg, E-40, Kendrick Lamar, Oobergeek, and Jay Rock features really stole the show

I actually did like them on that album because it was like a clash of rap styles, which I can always appreciate :y:

Honestly, except Worldwide Choppers/Am I A Psycho.. The features on A6A7 are kinda underwhelming. I think the hook on If I Could sounds really out of place too.

Nikkiya is amazing though. And instead of asking for collabs to T-Pain and Future, why doesn't he ask his buddy and label mate Krizz? Tech is really starving for relevance (and I understand it..) but come on.

Tech n9ne isn't underrated, some people legitimately think that he has been releasing the same average projects for years.

Willy wrote:^ That's one way to look at it... OR... Instead of taking his time with his albums, he shits a bunch of them out a year... making millions from impressionable kids that don't realize/care they're buying the same thing over and over again. There's no need to evolve - he's making money, which is his primary goal. It's CLEARLY not about the craft.

People praise his work ethic like it's a good thing he's half-assing release after release. To me, it would be far more impressive if he took his time trying to make a masterpiece... unfortunately that mindset doesn't mesh with the Strange Music business model.

Geno wrote:@trimss - Kaliko is on a lot of tracks that he isn't technically "Featured" on. It's like Almost Famous from Recovery. There's obviously other people on it, but it doesn't say they're featured. That happens a lot with Kali.

Are you guys really critiquing a Kendrick Lamar feature? You're all begging for him to collab with Em, calling him the next best thing, but if he collabs with Tech it's wasted space. :shakehead:

I don't mind Jay Rock, Snoop, Stevie Stone, etc. though.

If they're Strange features, I like 'em. :y:

Eminem is a great mc, kendrick usually does his best when he works with someone like Jay-Z, Eminem, etc, (legends etc).
When you work with someone like them, you usually take your time trying to make a good verse and imo, this is exactly what he did with Game, Jay-Z etc.
On the other hand, Tech n9ne releases a new project every 6 months and I have the feeling that most of the artists featured on his ep/tapes/albums write their verses in less than 15 minutes.

I'm not saying that tech n9ne is bad, I'm just saying that he is rushing people and he doesn't even take the time with his albums.
Kendrick, Eminem, yelawolf, Hopsin can drop whatever they want, they can drop bad verses if they want, the fact is that they're still taking their time trying to make great albums. Look at Tech N9ne... he released 10 mixtapes/ep/albums these last 3 years, why does he release so many projects ? :confusion:

I don't care if Tech N9ne is a good freestyler, I don't care if he has a great flow, I want him to drop a great album. I judge an artist on his albums and that's why I don't want him to release the same thing again and again.

Hesky wrote:Money. He's figured out that he can release lackluster, time constrained projects and make more money than if he releases fewer, doper projects over a longer length of time.

However, I'm still interested to see what he as in store on Something Else. I'm not expecting a classic, though.

and that's exactly why I don't want Eminem or Kendrick on a tech n9ne's project.
Tech n9ne will rush them as he always does, it's like asking someone to write a verse for a Kidd Kidd's mixtape lol.

Take your time with your album, release an uncompromised album and then write guest verses if you want to promote your album :y:
