If Macklemore is more than just an average rapper, then Drake is the best of the best.

Yet, you like Drake? :confusion:

Drake is one of the best artists right now imo.

Exactly. My Name Is was released in 1999, and its main agenda was to poke fun at pop culture. It parodied various representations of 'whiteness', and in the process prevented his authenticity/credibility from being questioned, which hadn't previously been done by a Caucasian Hip Hop artist on such a large scale. I agree that the song is corny, but there's a purpose behind it.

Yeah and the purpose behind Thrift Shop is to tell people that they don't need to spend hundreds on clothes. What's so bad about it?

also Shameek, Lance and Rattle1 are all alts. You heard it here first

I just don't like Macklemore. His overall sound, style, and lyrical ability (also his hairstyle) do absolutely nothing for me. A very hollow artist, in my opinion.

Most hollow post I've seen today... But whatever, to each his own. :coffee:

Only he can prove me wrong because right now the same thing is literally happening, one hot single and the album sells then he falls off because he tries to recreate that hype over one song.

But he already has two platinum singles and they're very different

I had a friend in undergrad who LOVED Macklemore. This was like 5 years ago. So I don't know why people just judge dudes on one song. And Thrift Shop is still good.

It's really sad how close-minded a lot of you are. Thrift Shop was overplayed by the radio yes, but when it first came out it was a fun song, and pretty much every other Macklemore song prior to it was good. He's lyrical, meaningful and not a complete douche. Plus he did all of this himself, built himself from the ground up with no labels support.

He is one of the better up and coming emcees. Don't hate because something good is popular. Be happy people are actually listening to good music for once. Fuckin' hipsters...

Yeah it's bad.

You all want to make such a big fucking deal over the lack of lyricism on Yeezus? I won't let you praise your precious Macklemore for his shitty fucking music.

Double standards yo.
