Nas has 0, yeah... something doesn't body well there. Macklemore is just saying what his supposed to say, he has to say this. Nobody should take the grammys serious after this.
NAS LOST
That doesn't mean anything though. Plenty of other talented black artists have won grammys, numerous times. Nas is one of the best lyricists out there but again, his music speaks to the hood. Be honest with yourself, how much can you relate to listening to people talk about getting shot at and troubles of living in the hood?
Nobody should take the grammies seriously? Why not? Because they aren't adhering to some imaginary code that you are expecting them to adhere to? The Heist has spoken to millions upon millions of people world wide, much more than kendrick. This is the grammys, the WORLDS award show. Young boy rapping about life in the hood capturing the hearts of the other 6 billion people in the world just isn't logical.
One of the biggest aspects of music is the impact it has on the world, and kendrick's reach doesn't get much further than the hood and big cities.
Sorry but a bunch of young hip-hop heads orgasming over kendrick's lyricism doesn't spread his music to the world and relate to millions in a deeper way.
"Dope as shady though? Bitch, don't KID yourself. You ain't even a baby GOAT." -Em (Symphony in H)
Kid
/kid/ noun:
A baby goat.
