Menzo wrote:Big definitely didn't make it a priority, but he wasn't a stranger to stacking rhymes. Look at a song like "Kick In The Door" for example...
"Penis before I squeeze and bust
If the beef between us, we can settle it
With the chrome and metal shit
I make it hot like a kettle get
You're delicate, you better get - who sent ya?
You still pedal shit, I got more rides than 'Great Adventure'"
"On ya mark, get set, when I spark, ya wet
Look how dark it get when you're marked for death
Should I start your breath or should I let you die"
"Trying to blow up like nitro and dynamite sticks
Mad I smoke hydro, rock diamonds that's sick
Got paid off my flow, rhyme with my own clique"
Menzo wrote:Pac also had some 'poor' songs by rhyme/complexity standards.
I'd say neither of them are on Nas or Big L's level, although both of them did have a handful they shined one.
Yoda wrote:I think Biggie deserves his spot as one of the GOATS. he may of not had the the rhyme schemes but he certainly had flow and a larger than life personality
MistaVijilantee wrote:"Niggas is mad I get more butt than ash trays
Fuck a fair one, I get mine the fast way
Ski mask way, nigga ransom notes
Far from handsome, but damn a nigga tote
More guns than roses, foes is shaking in their boots
Invisible bully like The Gooch
Disappear, vamoose, you're wack to me
Take them rhymes back to the factory
I see the gimmicks, the wack lyrics, the shit is
Depressing, pathetic, please forget it
You're mad cause my style you're admiring
Don't be mad, UPS is hiring"
This not overly complex but it has clever, slick punchlines i.e "I get more butt than ashtrays" and it's an example of why Biggie was so successful, he had catchy simple phrases but they were far from dumbed down.
He is one of the most accessible rappers because of this.

Yeah, I mean, 90% of internet rappers can spit multies, not many have charisma and dope flows.

that's irrelevant because what do textcees have anything to do with biggie not having complex rhyme schemes ?
