I think what Chri$ might mean is that he doesnt like the music in the older songs from the pre 2000 era or pre 95. Today's music has a newer sound to it, more artificial beats whereas most 'older' stuff is more instrumental based. Mind you, J Dilla was producing beats which were ahead of their time back then :worship: But I guess it depends if you listen to rap/hip-hop for its lyrical content or just a good beat... Classics have a good combo of both - as asp is trying to show you. Just give it time and the instrumental style grows on you

As always asp, just an opinion before you try find something to try and smash me down with. :)

Lol, im not trying to smash opinions, just trying to reason.

In all seriousness, it doesn't really matter much what instruments are used now, Hip Hop will always be a mixture, of MPC beats + turntables + some computer advancement quality wise. I can't say even for myself that i grew up in the "oldschool era", i started listening to hip hop 1998-2000, at the time it didnt sound much different from what it is now.

And yes, Dilla was the man, one of the best, most underated musical figures of hip hop... R.I.P.
*pours out liquor*.
