Big Pun was seriously eons ahead of Biggie. And, imo, Nas is the best, well, atleast my favourite of all time, F.O.A.T.. Because a G.O.A.T doesn't exist. No single rapper is good in everything, and that is, to me, the definition of ''greatest of all time''.

I don't think the greatest of all time needs to be good at everything. It's just about who is the best at the most things to the most extremes.

So a rapper who is just incredible at punchlines and nothing else can't be the GOAT to me, similarly a rapper who is just great at flows can't be. And I think the rapper with the most versatility and best ability at most things, is Eminem. You can section almost every other rapper down into one or a few things they excell at. Ie. you can say Nas is a poet or 2Pac is emotional... And bar a few exceptions, these types of rappers really don't go too far out of their comfort zones.

But Eminem excels at so many things and displays a complete breadth of emotions, styles and skillsets in so many ways that you can't just say he's the 'angry rapper' as he has just as many silly or serious songs, similarly you can't say he's the goofy rapper for the same reasons. And that's just primarly his subject matter, when it comes to flows and styles, no other rapper is as versatile.

Not only that, but it's not like he just does a lot of flows, he's a master at every one. And the reason this makes him the greatest as rapping is about (I believe) putting your personality into your music. In fact I think all art, if it's anything - is self-expression...

And no rapper does that better than Em. I don't agree a rapper is the greatest because they have the highest average of witty lines. Em brings so much on the mic which when attempted by others just sounds silly. So much personality, you get a complete human being on the microphone with all of his flaws, holes, warts and all - That just happens to be a robot at rapping. That's why it's so fascinating to listen to and why he is, the greatest.
