That's not really hipster-ish at all though. "Molly" may be new to mainstream hip hop, but it was a major influence on the Bay Area dating back a decade or two. It's not really that big of a deal...just a cool new drug that the ravers turned rappers onto. Repping your city? Jesus, the genre was founded on that concept, even if you're only talking about the four boroughs.

Besides, he isn't talking about it becoming white and trendy, he's talking about a white takeover conspiracy of a black genre. The purposeful watering down of the selection of black rappers to make white rappers more appealing. The lack of those wonderful "pistol popping" songs might be a side effect of that, but it isn't really the primary concern.

What he said about Rock 'n Roll and the Blues is correct to some extent, but it isn't really applicable to hip hop...and I don't know who thinks of white people when they think of the blues, but it isn't me. The face of Rock'n'Roll is different now because the genre is completely different.

Besides, anyone who doesn't think of Jimi Hendrix when they think of classic rock is missing out anyway. Scarface shows his ignorance as the video progresses.

Ok I pretty much skimmed that whole argument so sorry if someone said this, but if we are talking about popular rap....MTV's "hottest MC" list doesn't have a single white person on it. I think their list is garbage, but that't not the point. Hip Hop is about as white as the NBA. Just because there as some nice white dudes doesn't mean the majority is inverted...

You're right, but what he's saying is that the industry is purposefully putting out black rappers that suck, having them do the coon dance, and then bring in white rappers with higher skills to make black people look inferior, and eventually change the genre to a predominately white one.

It's interesting that he says this, yet white rappers usually have strong followings in the independent scene, only a few breaking into the mainstream, and the ones that do don't make the type of impact that would overshadow black rappers. Eminem is the exception to that rule of course, which is why he compared himself to Elvis, as Scarface does without mentioning Eminem specifically. He's actually coming off a little paranoid.

He should be blaming these black rappers that he feels are placed there to sabotage the genre for selling their fucking souls (figuratively speaking) for money, and making shitty jingles for stupid people to bump and view as the state of rap music.
