And I don't think an album that has Amityville and Under The Influence can be the greatest of all time.

I'm assuming you rate things as a whole, not just individual pieces?

GKMC is a great album, probably going to be Kendrick's best album, but in no way does it beat MMLP, despite whatever "filler" songs may be on it.

They're better than Backseat Freestyle

I think it fits the album thematically but as an individual track it's just meh.

The verses on Real are some of the best verses ever written by Kendrick

It's lyrically weak but it's supposed to be a (obviously) backseat freestyle so it's not supposed to be lyrically strong. It's a really fun song to play and rap along to and the third verse is one of the most hype things ever. I would say it's a good-great track.

And yeah, Real is awesome as well. Kendrick gets really deep on that track.

yeah, kendrick's fans used to hate on Real but they now consider real as one of the best songs on the album. It was a grower

tbh my fav songs on gkmc are:

Backseat Freestyle
Sing About Me
Money Trees
Maad City
Real

I love the others but these 5 >>>>

that's when I realized that backseat was technically one of the most impressive records of the last years tbh:

lyrically, real and sing about me are probably the best songs on that album

Not really a lame excuse. Its a song that sounds like something someone would rap with their friends while they're chillin. He even purposely gave it bad grammar and everything. "All my life I want money and power." If someone said that in a conversation you'd think they had down syndrome. The beat bangs, the flow is great and his delivery is awesome. Everything about the track is sweet.

And my top 5 would probably be

Art of Peer Pressure
Sing About Me
Mad City
Money Trees
Good Kid

I think everything Kendrick did was awesome and the only weak part of the album was Drake's verse.

I think the song is better with something more fun and simple than with something lyrically complex. It would have seemed out of place.

Kind of a lame excuse...but yeah.

I'm not an idiot dude I get that, with that logic you must love Berzerk because he's parodying all the other rapper's weak verses right? GOAT song Marshall! Just because its supposed to be lyrically weak doesn't mean it's a great song, you know? I'm also not saying it's a bad song, just that I think Amityville is a lot better.

Nah I just don't listen to Backseat Freestyle at all unless I'm listening to the album in full. Obviously it's an important track on the album or else it wouldn't be there.

Well not really because nothing I said refers to Berzerk. The beat sucks, the song is sonically atrocious and it's the complete opposite of fun to listen to. And parodies are supposed to be clever and funny while Berzerk lyrics are just stupid. More like he's mimicking other rapper's weak verses than parodying them.
