Undun and How I got over are not better than it and trust me I more than anyone in this damn site would like to say both of those albums are top 5 rap albums of the 2010s. RTJ is nice but is extremely safe and loses replay value after like a month, it tries to go the illmatic route but falls well short of that. It's just banger after banger with some nice rapping and beats but it's about as by the books as it can get and makes it almost personalityless because of that. No to krit either. Haven't listened to Big Boi's album yet.

I guess I'd say yes to Pinata, GKMC, MBDTF, and XXX but that's it.

If that's at me I feel like most of the beats are just kanye west B sides and almost linkin parkish, I always though lupe is one of the most creative rappers and yeah at his prime he was a lyricist's but that beat to I gotcha is awful. I honestly wish he hooked up with Flying Lotus or Madlib and created his version of NoYork or something. He also just comes off as being too dense and likes to hide his meaning behind multiple songs and scatter around other albums and if you can't parse any meaning out of them, he almost acts like you failed as a listener. But yeah it's mostly the beats and the hooks that aged like ass to me, as a pure rapper he's fine but I think he got better in The Cool and just went all out balls to the wall pop rather than lightly touching the surface. Other people hate it but whatever.

Absolutely not @ Undun being as good as MBDTF and GKMC, that album was good sure. Maybe even great at a push but it's one of the most scatterbrained concept albums out there and is filled to the brim with mediocre verses by weedcarriers and meh Black Thought verses as well as sterile af production. Seriously go listen to Game Theory & Rising Down (the absolute peak of the roots), I still think it's good and wouldn't even call it lazy (like that new roots album) it was just decidedly bland. Also listenin to MTI for lyrics is like listenin to 6 kiss for the lyrics (although Lil Ugly mane is better than Lil B) it's the sonics that make it interesting which it far outstrips krit in that regard. MTI beats are honestly some of the craziest this decade. Oh yeah I'd also mention the money store in that discussion but I bet no1 here likes death grips.
